Issues Identified…

The site meeting this week revealed a number of defects in the construction phase, some minor but unfortunately some major. However, thankfully they were all spotted in good time and are relatively easy to remedy. The most critical structural issue was the installation of the steel posts, that support the second floor slab. These were not anchored correctly and also not perfectly vertical, so the architect has insisted that they are removed and reinstalled.

The concrete that can be seen in the photo below is a ‘blinding layer’ on which a slab will be built to take the boundary wall.
